INSTALLATIONANDFIXATION Pre-Installation: Allmaterialsanddocumentationrelevanttothisparticularsectionofworkswillbecheckedandverifiedensuringthatthesearecorrectandapprovedtype. Priortothecommencementofworks,ens

7、urethattheareasforpermanentinstallationareready,accessibleandinsuitablecondition.Excavation: PermittoWork(PTW)shallberaisedfortheexcavationclearlymentioningthelocationofwork,sizeofexcavationandlevels. Excavationsareashallbesurveyedandmarkedtothelinesandlevelsasshownonthedrawings. Theareaofexcavation

8、willbecordonedoffusingsafetydevices. EnsuretheworkingareaatanyconfinedspaceisfreefromanyHazardousGasbyproperGastestingusingtheGastestinginstrument. Materials: Notnecessaryfortheconstructionshallberemovedcarefullyandstoredneatlyforreinstatingaftertheconstructionworks. Thematerialreceivedfromtheclient

9、shallbestoredindesignatedareaofstore. Arrangementsshallbemadetoprotectagainsteffectsofweatherandenvironment. Pulling: Insulationresistanceofthecablesshallbecheckedbeforelayingcables. Afterthetest,theendofthecableshallbesealedtopreventtheingressofmoisture. 1.ocationofthepanels/equipmentshallbeidentif

10、ied. Cablesshallbelubricatedifbendsinconduitsareencounteredinaruntofacilitatedrawingin.Cablesmustnotbebenttoaradiusoflessthan12timestheoveralldiameterofthecable. Rollersmustbeusedwherecablesareinstalledinanopentrenchusingapullingropeandeye;cablerollersaretobeusedatfrequentintervalstosupportthecables

11、andmustneverbemorethan3metersapart. Therollersaretobeplacedsecurelytopreventmovement. Thepullingropemustbeequippedwithaswivelandbeattachedtothecablebyastockinggripwithpullingeye. Thecabledrumintendedforcablepullingshallbeidentifiedasperthatindicatedinthedrumschedule. Thecabledrumsshallbeun-packedand

12、placedonacableroller,asrequired. Cablelayingwillgenerallystartfromoneendoftheroutelengthoratanysuitablepoint,asnecessary. Dependingontheweightandsizeofthedrum,suitablesizeofthecablerollingshaft(Spindle)shallbeplacedinsidethecentralaxisofthedrum. Suitablejacksshallbeplacedfirmlyonthegroundandjackedup

13、toallowclearancefromthegrounddependingonthesizeofthecabledrum. Thedrumshallbeliftedbyrequiredequipmentandplacedonthejacks. Thecabledrumwillbecorrectlypositionedandthedirectionofcablepullingasindicatedbyarrowonthedrumshallbecomplied. Thecableshallbedrawnintothetrenchsmoothlywithaminimumofstopsandatan

14、averagespeedofbetween9-12metersperminute,toavoidirregularmovement. Termination: Terminationpointinsidethepanels/equipmentshallbeconsideredforsuitablesparelengthtobeleftavailableduringpullingofcabletermination. AftercuttingthecabletotherequiredlengththeterminationworkwillbeconductedasperADDCStandard.

15、 JointingandTerminationwillbecarriedoutasperADDCstandards.Alljointingandterminationworkwillbecarriedoutbytrainedtechnicians,experiencedinsuchworkfortheoperatingvoltageconcerned. Propercrimpingtoolsshallbeusedcompressiontypelugs.Allcablesaretobeterminatedusedglandsofpropertypeandsizeasperareaclassification. Theglandshallbeassembledstrictlyinaccordancewithmanufacturersinstruction,particularattentionbeingpaidtoensuregoodmechanicalandelectricalcontactbetweenpartwithoutexcessivestrainordistortionofcable.
