11、tialchallengesforgovernmentsandpolicymakers.Asourenergysystemprogressivelyelectrifies,theneedforincreasedsystemflexibilityanddemand-responsemeasuresbecomesessentialindeliveringasecure,reliableandaffordableenergyfuture.Thisreportoutlinesthewaysinwhichenergyefficiencypoliciescanevolvetodelivertheenerg

12、ysystemthatisneededforrapidchangenowandfortheenergysystemofthefuture.Thekeymessagesare: Whendesignedtodoso,energyefficiencypoliciesresultinginareductioninoverallenergyintensitycanalsodelivertheflexibility,managementanddemand-responsethatarenecessarytoacceleratecleanenergytransitions. Energyefficienc

Evolvingenergyefficiencypoliciescanincludeleverstodirect,manageandshapechangesinenergysystems.Inthisreportweidentifytwomaincategoriesofle

Flexibilityleversaddressaspectsoftheelectricalsystemandthewaysinwhichitcanbeoperatedandengagedwithtoensureaccess,reliability,responsivenessandaffordability.
